Short eared Owls

The first Short Eared Owl that I saw PM yesterday was being shadowed by a persistent crow that was looking to grab a share of the owls prey.   The owl moved to various parts of the rough grass fields but the crow always followed until the owl tired of the chase and just sat in the grasses for twenty minutes and waited for the crow to give up.

When the coast was clear the Owl was up hunting once more but today the prey seemed very illusive with none being taken in over an hour and in my final image the owl went back to to grass with its wings parted away from its body to cool down after its efforts.
