A Meadow pipit goes defensive when a newly arrived Cuckoo lands on a fence post in its nesting area.
The Pipit dive bombs the Cuckoo relentlessly making contact with its spear shaped beak from behind on several occasions in her attempts to evict the Cuckoo
This battle can have has serious consequences for the pipit as if the Cuckoo can find its nest she will certainly drop an egg in there leaving the pipit to raise the Cuckoo's young at the cost of loosing its own.
The feisty pipit finally succeeds in sending the Cuckoo on its way this time but the Cuckoo will be around every day for the next few weeks knowing that there is a nest in the area and the Pipit will possible have to pay the price of raising the Cuckoo's offspring
