Peregrine with Prey

A hungry female Peregrine has just flown back to her clifftop territory with a large pigeon prey which she begins to pluck immediately.

With feathers going everywhere she stands on her prey and tears into its body with her powerful hooked beak.

It is perhaps fairly rare to watch a single Peregrine consume such a large prey item in one sitting but on this occasion over the course of an hour she consumed every edible part of the bird leaving just feathers carcass and feet.

The final shot  above shows her very extended crop as she rests for a while trying to digest her monster meal before moving on.
