This female kestrel rates as one of my favorite birds in Cornwall.
She has raised two clutches totalling nine fledglings over the last couple of years and this year she is already prepared for another family as she waits patiently today for her mate to return to their chosen territory,
I spent several hours with this fine bird PM today during which time she went off to hunt several times but she always returned to the same location giving me ample time to select the portrait shots posted below.
