Buzzard v Raven

On south coast cliffs this morning I watched as a curious Buzzard landed on the cliff top in very poor light levels,  It had been attracted to movement within a dark old Ravens nest,

A female Raven had returned to its nest sight of the previous year and was busy trying to rearrange its structure to reuse it again this year.

The Buzzard took-off again to move in for a closer look but it hadn't bargained for a feisty male Raven that was watching at a distance to come crashing in to expel it.

This Raven was not taking any prisoners and the Buzzard very quickly decided to make a swift exit but it will probably be looking out for any opportunity to predate on eggs or chicks that might be left unattended at any time as the next couple of months go by.
