For the Black & White portfolio of the Longships Lighthouse photographed during Storm Erik and posted below I used a Nikon D500 DX camera body on loan from Bob Sharples to gain extended reach on the Longships which are one and a Half miles off of Lands End,
To gain full frame uncropped vertical images I used a Nikon 500mm F4 lens fitted with Nikon 1.7 tele-converter which provided 1250mm of reach when fitted to the D500 body.
All of the above was fitted onto a Gitzo GT5541LS tripod and a Wimberley gimble head for stability in the gale force winds and the images were taken using VR reduction on the lens and a remote control to fire the exposures
Many thanks to Bob for the loan of his Nikon D500 which is a camera that I will be adding to my 'Wish List' today.
