Hazardous Plastic Waste

Yesterday I spent some time watching Jackdaws coming and going from their nest at regular intervals and I was surprised when one came off the nest carrying something white,

I first thought it to be a fledgling poo sack but it turned out to be part of a chewed white plastic bag which this adult bird must have recognised as being hazardous to its young.

I wondered if the rest of the bag had been eaten by their fledglings which would cause them some digestive problems either now or at a later date,

Lets hope the current trend towards removing plastics from our abandoned waste products in the future will correct plastics hazardous danger to wildlife and the environment at large.
