Roe Deer ' Hide and Seek '

The image above shows the moment when I had just been ' Rumbled '   in the reed beds by a very alert doe Roe Deer.

I stayed perfectly still as I had done for the last hour playing ' Hide & Seek '   She held her ground for a while as the wind was in my favour but then she turned and eased back into the reeds taking one last look at me over her shoulder before melting into the cover

As she disappeared a previously unseen young buck came into view but he also soon eased off after the female and that was the last that I saw of either of them.

I never try to follow these deer so I back-tracked out of the reedbeds and returned home happy with my brief encounter.
