Concerns over Fox cub behaviour

This perhaps rather cute and innocent looking Fox cub is in fine fettle,  Its family go back several generations that have foraged on a regular basis in our garden and we have often taken pleasure in watching the cubs and parents welcoming, playing and even grooming each other on summer evenings over several years.

Not so this Cub which has been dominant and aggressive to its three siblings for early on this year to the extent that two of them have already perished and the third one who's plight I highlighted in a blog just a week ago has deteriorated rapidly during that time and I apologise if you like myself find the last image of it below disturbing to view.

Foxes like most other animal forage and kill to survive on a daily basis but I do not understand what has changed in this family group for one dominant cub to be so aggressive towards its own to the extent of starving them out of existence !

We have tried to do what we could to sustain these cubs this year but they seemed to have been bullied to the extent that they finally just accept their fate,    Nature in the Wild is not always Kind !!
