Marazion Marsh Buzzard with Prey.

A few days ago I produced a couple of blogs relating to the Buzzard that hunts along the warren at Marazion Marsh.

Well the bird was showing well again today and as it flew low and purposefully along the warren today it landed alongside a dead seagull that it had either killed earlier or it just happened across it.

Perhaps a bit Gory to some but I think that ' Nature in the  Raw ' images of Birds of Prey consuming their prey brings the overall nature and the survival of the species together so I was pleased to record this example of Buzzard behaviour.

Having watched many Peregrine pluck and consume their prey throughout this year I would have to say that they could teach this probably young Buzzard a thing or two but the bird gradually worked its way through the carcass consuming as many feathers as it did flesh and it eventually flew away quite contented leaving behind perhaps one of its first ring of feathers that is every Bird of Preys trade mark.
