Mating Buzzards
Capturing images of mating Buzzards is a combination of right place, right time, and with buzzards being so very skitty being at an acceptable working distance so as not to interfere with their natural behaviour.
Being in the right place at the right time has taken over two weeks to achieve and increasing working distance by using a lens, camera and tele-converter with a combined reach of 1275mm has been the key to avoiding any disturbance of their natural behaviour.
Working on a tripod to preset focus, composition and general camera settings and using remote shutter firing to increase my distance to a well used perch point has enabled me to capture a sequence of the mating procedure from landing to take-off in a matter of a few seconds in time.
