Portraits of Broken Tail

Broken Tail might sound like an American Indian name but it is aptly suitable in describing this very Cornish Kestrel which has always had a partially damaged or deformed tail during the three years that we have been working with it at its mating and breeding season.

He is a great provider of prey both for his mate and also the nine fledglings that they raised together during the last two breeding seasons.

He is currently posing well during are AM visits and also shows a good male Common Lizard prey just before handing it over to the female.

In the montaged take-off sequence above,   Having handed over his prey to the female  Broken Tail is off back on the hunt once again !
