Kestrel Prey Exchange

A three man crewed single deck Sloop sails gracefully by along the north Cornish coast without even noticing a lovely pair of breeding Kestrels exchanging prey on top of an old Cornish mine engine house.

I was on the Kestrels case and snapped away as the female flew in to accept the Vole being displayed  by the very attentive male.

It is always good to see these birds which spend so much time in Solo activities interacting and looking out for each other but with her vole collected the female is soon off to consume her lunch and look after her new clutch of eggs alone.

With his delivery successfully completed the male is back on the wing and with high winds prevailing it is off along the coastline again without so much as a wing beat !
