Kestrel Prey Variations


The most regular prey of this particular pair of Kestrels is Vole and Common Lizard but just about anything small enough for the Kestrel to handle can turn up.


Small birds and the likes of the unidentified fledgling shown here turn up from time to time,





On warm sunny days Slow Worms which are one of the Kestrels favourite prey items hit the top of the menu




This male Kestrel is a superb hunter and provider to his mate while she is raising her brood
