Synchronised Begging

When it comes to synchronised begging Swallow chicks would take some beating !

These images were taken inside a barn workshop at Chiverton farm near my home in Rosudgeon.  My camera and tripod were set up to roof level on top of a work bench and the Swallow nest is at the roof line inside the arrowed red rectangle.

All shots were taken using remote shutter release to avoid disturbing the birds during close working conditions of just one metre,

A portrait of Ma, Pa and the kids above is followed by random images taken during the shoot.

I was a little surprised when the above shot showed five chicks in such a small nest

All goes quiet when the adult birds leave the nest but its back to manic feeding mode as soon as the chicks sense their return is imminent.
