Tregeseal Pool Dragonflies

I visited Tregeseal Pool in bright sunlight yesterday afternoon on the look-out for Dragonfly sightings,

I was not to be disappointed once I found a swim that had good sunlight and shelter from a keen northerly wind.

I worked on Male and egg laying female Emperor for starters and then shifted my attention to Four -spotted chasers and Black-tailed Skimmers all of which kept me busy for several hours.

All exposures were taken using  Nikon D500 cropped sensor body fitted with a Nikon 500mm f4 prime lens and a 1.7 tele-converter providing 1275mm of reach to obtain full frame images at an average working distance of 4m
